Project Planning and Management of the Redevelopment of Chatham Maritime, Kent for English Partnerships / SEEDA.
Chatham Maritime is a 350 acre mixed-use development regeneration scheme for the former Naval Dockyard. The scheme has included extensive decontamination and remediation of the site and the construction of new highway and services infrastructure in support of a series of public/ private sector joint venture development sub-projects.
Original master planning activity was undertaken on behalf of English Partnerships by BBP Property Consultants; for whom Martin Stevens worked in the late ’90s.
Martin Stevens was not only involved in master plan reviews of the on-going strategy as developments “came on stream” but the practice was also engaged in several specific projects. These included: project management of the design and construction of highway and services infrastructure; preparation of a landscape design strategy and master plan; the roll-out of a 500 berth marina and the monitoring of retail and residential projects.
We also assisted SEEDA, in collaboration with BBP Property Consultants, in scoping and procuring term maintenance contracts for highways, landscaping, adverse weather (snow clearance and gritting) and general works.
