Implementation of an Enterprise-wide service for remote working for Morley Fund Management.
This project concerned the development and deployment of an Enterprise-wide system, enabling Morley staff to access core applications and services effectively and securely whilst out of the office, using any internet connection worldwide
We managed the programme of work from system design via proof of concept and contractual negotiation, through to implementation of the infrastructure supporting the service, pilot use and full deployment to both laptop and home PC users
The solution was based upon secure VPN connections using virtual applications and two-factor authentication. The service was integrated with an outsourced third party providing worldwide Wi-Fi connectivity with centralised billing and management. This provided lower service costs and avoided the need for staff on the move to pay for internet access at hotels, internet cafes and ‘hot-spots’
Successful deployment required equipment upgrades to corporate laptops, the delivery of user training and usage documentation, and the design and implementation of new service support processes to ensure ongoing system development and maintenance following handover
During project execution, a specialist security organisation undertook a penetration test to check the security of the service, and the desired level of security was confirmed
