Coca-cola, the famous soda available world wide in more than 200 countries was invented as a medicinal beverage by John Pemberton in 1886
The Coca-cola Company produces the beverage as a concentrate which is sold to licensed bottlers for distribution. It was sold in bottles for the first time on 12 March 1894 by the Biedenham Candy Company of Viksburg Mississippi using a “Hutchinson” bottle
In 2010 Coca-Cola became the first brand in the UK to top £1 billion in grocery sales and in the 2015 Interbrand global brand study, Coca-cola was placed third behind Apple and Google as the world’s most valuable brand
It’s estimated that there are 1.9 billion servings of Coke branded drinks consumed daily with Mexico consuming the most per capita. Coke is not sold in Cuba and North Korea
The brand still uses the script ‘Coca-cola’ logo designed by Frank Robinson in 1891
